Source For Horse Team Farrier Calder Morris

Calder grew up on a ranch near Patricia, Alberta and completed his Farrier Science certificate at Olds College while competing in the bareback riding with the OC rodeo team in 2019.  He was injured rodeoing and decided to focus his efforts on becoming a successful farrier. After a summer of recuperation from knee surgery, he was fortunate to have the opportunity to apprentice with Chad Lausen and moved to Strathmore, Alberta.  In 2021, calder competed in Division 2 and won the Wildrose Blacksmithing Championship and the Coyote Country Classic consecutively. He then went on in 2022 to compete in the Open Division at every North 49 Farriers contest and earned the Striker of the Year award.  In October, he passed his AFTA Journeyman certification and became the youngest Journeyman Farrier in Canada.  He concluded his 2022 season by competing at the WCB National Finals in Fort Worth Texas and made the live shoeing with some of the top farriers in North America.

Source for horse is pleased to have a young rising star like Calder join our team and he will be one to watch in the years to come.
