Equine Iodine

Churchill’s 16.5% pure Iodine is intended for general equestrian use. The disinfectant and antiseptic properties of iodine make it ideal for use on the hoof. To avoid and treat fungal and bacterial infections, it is applied to the sole of the hoof. It also helps to harden the hoof. Some people use it to make their own hoof remedies at home! It's applied to newborns' navel cords and hooves, as well as wounds and fungal skin infections like ringworm and rain rot. For skin problems, iodine may be diluted and used as a rinse after bathing.
